Editorial guidelines for techpartner.news
These editorial guidelines have been adapted from the Statements of Principles provided by the Australian Press Council, which can be viewed here.
As part of our editorial guidelines, techpartner.news will take reasonable measures to:
- Ensure that factual material in news reports and elsewhere is accurate and not misleading, and is distinguishable from other material such as opinion.
- Provide a correction if published material is significantly inaccurate or misleading.
- Ensure that factual material is presented with reasonable fairness and balance, and that writers’ expressions of opinion are not based on significantly inaccurate factual material or omission of key facts.
- Ensure that where material refers adversely to a person or company, a fair opportunity is given for subsequent publication of a reply if that is reasonably necessary.
- Communicate to sponsors that they cannot influence the non-paid “editorial” content.
- Avoid intruding on a person’s reasonable expectations of privacy, unless doing so is sufficiently in the public interest.
- Label all paid content as "Partner Content”, differentiating it from non-paid “editorial” content. This Partner Content may be supplied by the sponsor or written by a news journalist working with the sponsor - either way, the sponsor funds Partner Content and controls the topic and focus of this content.
We value feedback from readers as an essential part of maintaining our editorial standards.
